force students to work the assignments in a certain order

It would be nice if there was a feature that would force students to work thru a course's assignments in a particular order; i.e. a student wouldn't be able to open the next assignment until he had submitted a previous one.  Especially in language classes, it is important for students to work thru the assignments sequentially.
