We sign up choir students in a sequence of courses so they can take the course each semester. If we attempt to enroll a student in a course they have already taken and do not intend to re-take, there is no indicator to let us know that the student has taken that course. There is the potential to register a student for a course where they earned an A and overwrite their grade without knowing they took the course. This type of re-take flag would simply to alert the student to the fact that they were attempting to re-take the course.

Donna Haug The same goes for students who are registering for courses themselves. There is currently no warning to indicate to a student that they are selecting a course that they have already taken and passed or that they have taken an equivalent course. It would be important for there to be some notification to the student similar to what they get now when there are course conflicts or if the prerequisites are not met for that particular course.

Joel Wingo There seems to have been a feature added for students, but not yet for staff: https://support.populiweb.com/entries/94061918-Provide-a-validity-check-when-a-student-enrolls-in-a-course-to-make-sure-the-course-has-not-been-pre?page=1#post_48471447
