Please consider adding a Department Chair role. Department Chairs are considered common college positions - their role would include managing staff and advisors within their specfic department.

Michael DeLashmutt I totally agree with this suggestion. My department chairs need read access to the course schedule for a given term, the course evaluations of the faculty in their departments, and the ability to communicate with all of the students in their majors. As a workaround, I'm thinking of giving them 'registrar' access, though I fear that without some close supervision, they may poke around in places they shouldn't go.

Jennifer Cho I'm going to echo the same request here. Otherwise do other's have any better workarounds, setting them as faculty or TA for the course is something someone suggested but they would be limited in viewing course evaluations that do not meet thresholds and the work it would require to add them to the individual courses each term.

Elizabeth Reed 100% Agree with this. Our department chairs need a role that would allow them to have increased access in their departments only INCLUDING the ability to email faculty and students in their dept, view course evals, etc..

Darwin Glassford 100% agree, the department chair should have read only access to courses taught within the department, this would be especially helpful in their work with adjuncts.
