Sometimes we need to correct disbursements or aid refunds and when we generate the students' 1098-Ts or financial history through Populi, it doesn't match with our accounting software since Populi uses the "posted date" rather then the "effective date" of when the transaction actually occurred. We personally needed to update and fix past transaction up to a year behind, so now we have lots of posted activity in December and January when those actual events occurred anytime through a year ago. We needed to so our 1098-Ts manually this year because we couldn't rely on Populi's "posted "dates.
If you don't do it for every client, maybe at least give us an option of which way we want to see our data. Kind of like a cash vs accrual option.
