I am in the discussion board. I am trying to set up a discussion with my clinical group. I want to limit its availability to only those students in my clinical group (11 of them) to a specific period of time. I do not want the whole class to participate until I have them in clinical. It would be wonderful if we had this feature and could select students to participate in a private discussion board that only ones current clinical group could see and participate in.

Stan Fowler I second this. When I start a discussion in a large class, I would like to divide them into smaller groups for discussion, so that every student is not required to read every other student's post. This is easily done in Moodle, and it is very useful. I am coping by manually dividing up the class into smaller groups and communicating the division to the students. But they still have to scroll through all posts and find the ones in their group. Capacity to create the groups would be a very useful feature.

Bethany P I would like the same thing. Our students come from 4 different countries and need to be able to discuss the content of the lesson in their own languages as smaller groups. It would be good to be able to have an invite feature like is available in conferences.

Debbie Martis I would love to have this feature especially with distance learning. It would help students connect in one place and make it efficient for them. Thank you for your consideration!

Elaine Phillips We still want this!

Jeff Bakos It would be great for large classes to be able to break them into smaller graded discussion groups. Is this in the works?

David Balzer The ability to create a Discussion board with a group of students for projects, etc was requested 10 years ago. Any chance this feature will become a reality? Any updates on this? It's a fundamental part of online and in-person learning to be able to interact in small group settings. Thanks for considering.

Adam Sentz David Balzer - This is probably the most in-demand feature that we haven't added to Populi's LMS yet so there's a decent chance.
