In Moodle we can put a check mark next to the names of specific students that we would like to email off of a class roster. We would like to be able to do the same thing within Populi.
This is a need when we have a group of students within a class that we want to email. It would make it easier to create a custom email list.
It would be nice if we could do this from the assignment section. We would like to be able to send a message to students who have not yet turned in a specific assignment.
Same feature would be fantastic within the Advisor role... for an advisor to be able to pull up a list of his/her students and email only a select group of them. So, it would be great if this kind of a feature could apply to all sections where you are able to email a group of students.
For example, today the registrar essentially had to combine two courses. There was no easy way for the instructor email just the new group of students through Populi (he was able to do it through Moodle instead).
We added this a while ago! You can "check" students on a course roster and then choose "Email selected students" from the Actions button.
