Would it be possible to add a Student Worker role in Admissions? We have students who work in our Admissions department, and we need them to have limited access to confidential information. (Similar to the library and bookstore issue you resolved by uncoupling these with "staff.") We need our student workers to be able to enter prospects into Populi and few other tasks, but they do not need access to all the files that staff members can see.

Jason Abell This would be helpful to Bethlehem College & Seminary also. We have graduate students who are on our undergraduate admissions committee. We would like for them to have access to admissions files and prospects, without having all of the staff role rights.

David Mize We have a few student workers who make followup calls for people who have submitted applications. We would need these students to be able to see basic info without seeing the application itself.

David Mize Just to add some clarification to this since I think it's a pretty major security concern.
We have interns and students who do follow-up calls for us for potential new students. Populi does a wonderful job at documenting these things, but in order for our students and interns to be able to see the Lead Info for a potential student, they have to have the admissions role. If they have the admissions role they can also see the Student's application, and confidential references. That's a pretty big deal. For that reason we havent' been giving them the admissions role, but then Populi's amazing documentation is null and void. OR let's say that we have someone who become an admissions intern, who also filled out an application in Populi when they were initially applying to our school. They could then go in and see what their friends/pastor/references said about them confidentially? I don't think that's ok.
It would just be nice to be able to have a pretty limited role that can see all lead info information without access to the application.

David Mize articulated precisely our desire and the concern driving it.

Becky Young We are a small graduate school with two staff members, so we rely on student assistants to help us enter data into Populi and set up Communication Plans, as part of their work with general prospective student inquiries. The BIG issue is that our Student Workers should not have access to any applications. They will likely be classmates and it is not ok for them to see confidential essay responses, which can be quite personal. Nor is it appropriate for them to see references. Many applicants waive their own right to access these references, so current students should be prevented as well. This also seems like it could be a FERPA issue?
Thank you for your consideration of making an upgrade to your system to allow for student workers (or admissions support staff) and prevent folks outside of the admissions admin roles to access applications. We do find the ability to send a link to the application helpful when we send completed files to our Admissions Committee for admissions decisions.
