We need to be able to keep track of when students change degrees throughout the time as a student. At the present time, we make the old degree inactive and the new degree pursuing. This causes issues in reporting because both the inactive and the pursuing degree pull into the report and have to be deleted out by hand. Also, the inactive and the pursuing degrees all print on the transcript which adds a lot of unnecessary information to the transcript. It would be helpful if there was a way to mark degrees/specializations as "old" (similar to phone/address/email), so that they could be seen for historical information, but they would not appear in reports or an transcripts.

Christal Fehr I agree very strongly! We just delete the degree completely, but as a result, it is impossible to report on what the student's degree was 2 years ago, or even just to see a record of changes made, as the change log in the Activity Feed does not include specialization information.

Donna Haug Yes! This is a frustrating issue for me. I do reports on a regular basis and often need to sort them by degree and/or specialization. We don't want to lose the historical record of degree changes, but having the old data on the same line and in an unpredictable order adds a lot of additional work. I would love to see the inactive or granted degrees and/or specializations to be in a separate field where we can bring it up if we want it, but don't have to deal with it on every report.
