Would you consider allow students earlier access to their course materials. Right now, students cannot access their course materials until at least the first day of the term. This can be a hindrance to students' learning as they need to see their materials ahead of time and prepare for the first day of class.

@Phuong - Unless you have the "Student Access" setting set to disallow students from accessing the course they should be able to get to the course as soon as they are enrolled. If you have more specific questions about what they should or shouldn't be able access feel free to open a support request so we can dig into it with you.

You are right; although for some reason last semester I had the trouble of students not able to access the course despite the "student access" setting set to "open to students"

Students are still not able to see course materials. I just read over my initial description of the request and realized I should have clarified the issue further. When a student is registered for a course, you're right in that they can access their course "info" page. However, they cannot access any "lesson" materials.
When teachers add a new lesson, the earliest date they can make the materials available is the first day of the term which means Populi will not make it visible until that date. However, many teachers do want to make course materials accessible to students prior to the 1st day of term and students also want do so as well, for planning purposes or just to get ahead. The problem right now is Populi requires an available date.
Perhaps, you guys can consider giving Teachers the option to either make the lesson "Available now" or "only on this date."

@Phuong - The earliest Lessons can be available is the course start date (as opposed to term start date though they are often the same). If you want Lessons to be available earlier you can always set the course to start on an earlier date.
@Adam - while that would work, we would have to remember to change the start date for every single course...and that would be a tedious process. It may make more sense to change the term start date to be say 4-5 days before the actual first day so our registrar just have to make one date change. We'll give that a shot and see how that works. Hopefully, there's no ramification with making an earlier term start date. Thanks!
