With the new application, it would very helpful if we could print the application in a format that would be able to be put in the student files. It will need to be more readable and more condensed. Currently our application through Populi prints to 15 pages. When printed from our current website, it is less than 5. Even if the data could be exported and mail merged it would be helpful.

Jena Simpson This new format will cause much more work on our part if we are unable to get a printable application. I hope that a remedy can be found so that applications can be printed in a clear, readable, and condensed format.

Jonathon Beeke First, hats off to all the guys at Populi for streamlining the application process!! The recent improvements (especially online references) have been much appreciated.
I would add my vote to this suggestion, however. While I like the "spread out" feel for the actual application online, the print view should be much more condensed (smaller font, less space b/w entries, using more of the page rather than just left side, etc.).

Faadi Yamin I agree with Jonathon, also would be great if the Address, email and phone could be included in the print out.

Dee McOwen Continuing requesting improvements to the application:
- References should not be printed with our application; they are submitted confidentially and are destroyed upon admission. It is not appropriate they be included as part of their permanent student record.
- Allow the document to be downloaded in rich text, ODT, or MS Word format so significant formatting can be done before printing to reduce the significant waste of paper and ink.
Please, please work on this.
Thank you.

Toby Robinson The printed application has been improved for readability.

Krysta Hartman Can you indicate how it's been improved? I don't notice a difference.

Adam Sentz @Krysta - It's mostly subtle nips and tucks; nothing really drastic. We're still working within the limitations of it being an application designed for use on the web, and not for print, in the first place so we're not going to be able to get nearly as condensed. If you haven't, I recommend checking out the read-only application share link feature which should hopefully cut down on the need for printing copies.

Krysta Hartman @Adam - Thanks for clarifying. Thanks, also, for the reminder about the read-only application share link. This could, indeed, be helpful when sending applications out to our admissions committee for review. It seems likely, though, that we will continue to print out hard copies of applications for student files kept by the registrar's office. So, I hope this is something Populi will continue to look into.

Judi Barton Has anything about this changed? We too will need to print of applications for student files. I am right now in the process of creating our online application and this will make a difference in how we are able to use this system.
