Due to the lack of basic logic functions (as requested here: https://support.populiweb.com/entries/21005216-degree-audit-enhancement-request-basic-logic-capability), we have to create multiple course groups to manage degree audits. If we wanted to get total hours, at the moment, Populi can only give a total of each course group and this would make the transcript quite cumbersome to look at. So it would be great if you could add the ability to calculate a total from hours earned in different course groups. I would imagine this functionality is more for you guys to use on the back end in creating our custom transcript.
Below is an example of how we currently set up course groups:
-"Academic core" course groups = 150 hours
-"Research" course group (either course A or course B) = 3.0 hours
-"Elective" course group (10 credits out from this group) = 10.0 hours
Ideally, we would like the transcript to show a total of all 3 course groups (150 + 3 + 10 = 163 hours) rather than 3 separate totals.
