As a TA, I've had the instructor ask me to print out all of his quizzes and the answer keys so that he and I can study them. It was very disappointing to discover that you can't print an answer key at all and when you try to print the quiz, certain questions do not show. I read through several of the Knowledge Base comments and found that as far back as 2010 people have been wanting this. Please make this happen!

  I agree with Hannah.  This is needed.  I have instructors who need a hard copy to review the questions and answers. I am also trying to cut and paste and RE-TYPE to make this happen.  Please help.

  Adam Sentz, you closed the new thread I opened because this one from 2 years ago was open. I don't see anyone responding to it or offering changes, so that is a pretty annoying move to make, as though saying this was brought up 2 years ago is a reasonable response. It's not, at all. Is anyone responding to this?

  @William - Linking to this feature request and closing the new one is in no way a value judgement on the request itself, it's just harder for us to track the popularity of a feature request if there are duplicates. So when a duplicate is created we try to redirect the oldest or most popular one. Just trying to help you out!

  I agree as well. It would be great to see the answer key online and have a printing option as well. Also, maybe an option to mass correct an answer if an instructor entered the wrong "answer" instead fo having to make that correction for 100+ students one at a time.

  Yes, we need to be able to print tests/quizzes and also to copy/paste or export them to a Word document or similar.

  I too as a teacher would appreciate the opportunity to export questions and answers to text so I can construct a test in Word in the event I need to give a paper final.  Please work on this!

  Has anything been done regarding this issue since the last time someone posted to this thread? I would very much like to be able to export my questions, but can't see any way to do that. Very frustrating to have spent time writing questions but have no access to them outside of Populi. I can't imagine it would be terribly difficult to add this feature, and there is clearly a need for it.

  I've made a formal feature request , we shall see if Change Happens. As I am viewing this thread, 2 years after it was created, it seems like it is indeed an issue.

  @Adam Sentz: Hi Adam, hope you and your family are well.

  Are you any closer to creating a way for us to print exams, answer keys and student exam papers?

  FYI, the country here requires permanent paper files of all key assessment tools like exams for each student. The lack of a print option means your nice online test option is eliminated for us. Thanks for helping.

  Hi, are there any updates on this feature request? It would still be great! Our office spends a lot of time correcting mis-entered answers from instructors. It would be great to see the answers all at once to check for accuracy. Answer key please! :-)

  @Martha - Nothing to report re: printing, but making it easier to correct mistakes on tests is definitely on the radar.

  How popular does a thread need to be for action to be taken?

   

  I would love to have a printing option that includes a key! We would like to review a test we just made and are unable to review the answer key without either taking the test or reviewing the questions individually. Please help!

  @Ashley - There isn't any particular threshold.

  Are you primarily looking for the ability to make sure your test is set up correctly?

  I'm not Ashley, but I have the same request.  Here's my issue - if we set up a test in Populi but cannot export the test or the answer key, we have no other record or hard copy of the test.  I have to instruct my teachers to make the test in a Word document first and then copy/paste questions into populi.  This also limits the ability to do testing of mixed types - e.g. tests during semester online and then a written final exam.  With no way to export test questions, a test or quiz generated exclusively in Populi is nigh unto USELESS if we have to re-type everything for archive records, written final exams, or backup copies.  

  Export to a word document or rtf would be extremely helpful!

  @Matthew - Perhaps for archival and backup purposes it would be worth trying printing the preview to PDF? Those print decently at the moment, and I'm looking at cleaning up a couple of formatting issues soon.

  @Keola - Are you looking for a print of every question that could possibly be on the test with all of the possible answers already saved in Populi?

  @Keola - Are we talking about a particular student's instance of a test or a generic version of the test to review with a whole class. As much detail as you can provide about your use case is helpful as we think about these things. A test in Populi can, in theory, be completely unique for each student that takes it so it's not as simple as a test that's administered on paper.

  I am talking about the general test.  Not an individual person's.  If I need my assistant to do the review, is there a way to print the entire test and answer key for them to review with the entire class?

  @Keola - You can get a decent printout of a test by simply printing the Preview tab. Some question types work better than others. There isn't currently an option to show correct answers. Depending on what your test is like, getting from what you can get by printing the Preview to a usable key for review could be anything from quite simple to a real pain.

  The main reason we don't have anything like that in Populi at the moment (apart from the myriad other things we're working on instead) is that tests can be quite different from traditional, paper tests in that they can be generated on a per-take-basis in whole or in part from banks of large numbers of questions. Further complicating this is that some question types can have multiple (as many as you set up) correct (or partial credit) answers. Perhaps we could think about a way to incorporate showing correct answers provided there aren't any questions-from-category sections on a test.

  Printing in the Preview option doesn't work for me.  If I have a drawing or a file inserted in the first question, that file is the only thing available to print.  Here's what shows up to print.... and see below for what the test looks like.

  Kamalesh Hooven - The embedded document viewer isn't going to be able to print out as part of the page, but if you used an image (e.g. a jpg) instead it might work.
