Dropdown box on the "Gradebook" tab

On the "Attendance" tab there is a dropdown box that allows me to see the attendance on individual students.
Can that dropdown box be added to the "Gradebook" tab as well?
The reason is because I cannot currently sit down with an individual student and show him/her how he/she is doing in a given class because ALL the students' grades are right there. I'd like to be able to show a single student all his/her grades on a the screen WITHOUT exposing the other students' grades.

The problem with the performance dashboard is that it doesn’t have hard numbers.  Just graphs and pie charts.  So when I show it to students I don’t think it’s as clear as showing them a list of numbers and percentages. 

I just want a way to block out the other students’ grades from view on the gradebook tab when talking with a student.

  I second this idea.I often want to sit down with students and show them the breakdown of their grade, but cannot.

  Yeah, it seems so obvious; you'd think every teacher would need this.  And it doesn't seem like it would be hard to add. 

  Now, to be sure, you can go to the "Reporting" tab and pick an individual student.  But that method doesn't reveal the current overall grade and it's a bit confusing with all the graphs.  A simple option to just look at ONE student's grades in the gradebook with actual numeric values for each assignment and the over all grade would be really helpful.

  Yes, Populi, please make this request a priority to protect students' privacy and help teachers advise their students.

  There is now an individual advising page for each student when you click on their name in the roster.
