Hi team,
We have a few library databases which we use referring URL authentication
to give students access to those databases. With our plan to integrate, we
hope to use the "links" page on the library to house the links to these
subscribed databases. Right now the referring url is "hidden." Is there any way for library links to pass along a referring url to the destination site?
Has this issue been resolved? How so?
Fred Betcher - I don't believe we were ever hiding the http referer header. The issue in this request may have simply been an https vs http issue. I know for a fact that, as of right now, it's possible to do this.
Awesome! I'm very curious how we go about adding the referer header for the link that our online database provided. Is that something that we need to talk to Populi Support about? We had added the link previously and it worked temporarily and then stopped. We're trying to get this back up and running ASAP!
Fred Betcher - I'd guess that's related to how browsers are changing how they treat this header for security/privacy purposes. If you open up a support request with some details we can look into what's going on and see if there's anything we can do on our end.
