Alerts for items submitted on applications

Currently Populi only sends an alert when an application is started and when references are submitted.  We have several other custom items on our application that students must submit (personal statement, photo, etc...).  Our admission counselor has to search through there every day to check for submitted items to follow up with them.  It would be a great time saver if we could customize alerts to be sent when these items are added and when the finished application is submitted.
