The way that Featured Items are currently setup in the bookstore is rather laborious. Supposing that you want to change from one featured item to another, a common enough process, this requires an inordinate number of clicks and screens and loading.
1) Find old item profile 2) Load edit screen for item 3) Remove from Featured Item category(ies) 4) Save item profile 5) Find new item profile 6) Load edit screen for item 7) Add to Featured Item category(ies) 8) Save item profile
And this is just to change one item.
I propose a single Featured Item setup page, probably in the bookstore Admin tab. I imagine that this page would list each of your categories, with either search or drop down boxes under each category. These boxes would function much like the boxes under the current Featured Items in the item edit page, except you would select the items you wished to feature, with an additional blank box propagating once the existing box is filled.
Such a screen would allow you to alter all of the Featured Items for every category at the same time, with only one screen to load, only a single click for each item (even changing from an old item to a new item in that single click), and then a single click and load to save the changes for every category.
