When creating/importing a record, the author listed is the name that prints on the spine label. If there are multiple authors listed, the system doesn't know how to handle it, and you end up with multiple authors listed on the spine label. Just to show you what I mean, I added an additional author (me - ha!) to the book "The Sick Rose." So the book has two authors listed in the record - Richard Barnett and Molly Jones. Attached is an image of the spine label that prints. It has both authors' names listed, which isn't good (at least in most libraries, anyway). The only other way to add additional authors to the record would be to add the field "Author of intro, forward, etc." But that might not always be accurate. I know that another workaround is to use the "Creator" field, but that's not really as accurate as I'd like to be. It would be awesome if there were fields such as "Author 1," "Author 2," "Author 3," etc. in which you could list multiple authors. The author that prints on the spine label could be connected to "Author 1."
