Template for syllabi

This template would be used by each prof to put together the syllabus for their course, so that syllabi we print out and course info on populi is the same, but it would include extra information not included in the info tab in populi, like our logo, descriptions of assignments, class schedule, bibliography, etc. I know you have places to put all that on the info page and other places, but we can't print it out as a syllabus. Other things that we would include would be the prof contact information, college goals and how the class specifically fulfills these goals, information on plagiarism, class attendance expectations, grading scale, etc. 

We would like the template to automatically include info page content like the logo, prof name, course description, number of credits, course name, class schedule and meeting place.

We would need to have drop-down menus for things like the college goals, the wording of which would be predetermined (ie - they could choose the goal, but not edit the wording that it uses). 

Fillable portions would be used for the class schedule, where topics for the class hours can be included, and when specific assignments are due.

I am including a series of 5 screen shots of a template from another college.

  I would love to see this feature! I was just coming onto the knowledge base to see if this is something that is already possible, and I found this post. Love it and support it!

  I, too, would like to see the syllabus template!  Would also like the ability to pick and choose from a list of syllabus field options (most of which are covered in Ruth's request above).  This will allow flexibility for customization of the components to be included by each institution. 

  Also agree that within an institution there will be some verbiage/requirements that will be standard across all syllabi for their school.  Being able to create those standards in the template will save time and ensure consistency. 

  Adding this feature along with data download would also help make Populi more valuable as a one stop shop for both faculty and administration.  Giving faculty the syllabus template will allow for both creation and storage on the tool.   Since the syllabus data would then be a part of the Populi database, instead of just an attachment, the fields could be available to download to Excel.  This would allow the research and assessment team to use data for accreditation/assessment reviews.  Some field examples for the review process:

  course info --- course objectives/outcomes --- methods of assessing outcomes/evaluations --- alignment to institution mission/goals --- course evaluation infor --- etc.

  Students will also be able to view only the section of the syllabus pertinent to them at the time rather than wading through an entire document. 

  Note, it seems this feature request also ties in with "Build report for course syllabus request submitted by David Lambert Jan'15.

  How can we get this request ranked higher and in queue?  :-)  Thank you!!!

  This would streamline our course development process while offering quality control. This would be great! I would also like to see a field added where a bibliography reference list was used to develop the course. (not the books required to take the class) Next step would be to see if the books are already in our library or if we need to order them. (our policy is to have each book used in our library)

  This feature would be really great!

  There are templates available as reported by The Chronicle, but it would be nicer if it were in our SIS and tied into our calendar with institution-specific data as already mentioned.
