When we send out email newsletters, Populi has a few severe limitations that require lots of manual maintenance by comparison to tools like Mail Chimp.
1. It can be painful keeping two lists of email addresses updated. For this reason, it would be wonderful to use a tool like Mail Chimp in sync with Populi's database.
2. There is no way to automate a sign-up form to subscribe to email updates (Mail Chimp provides all kinds of widgets and sign up forms for this purpose).
3. There is no way to automate the maintenance of our email newsletter - again, Mail Chimp provides RSS to email templates, etc.
For this reason, I would love to request integration with Mail Chimp or some other RSS to email newsletter service.
