Hello! After a year I didn't realize that when you make something visible to "advisor" it makes it visible to ALL ADVISORS. For this it has created some FERPA violations. ALL advisors do not have a legitimate need to know confidential information about students they do not advise.
We are going to change our practice for using the activity feed going forward, but it would be good if a visibility option could be added for "student's advisor only".

Completely agree. We need a way to keep a record of communication (especially when it comes to advising) between the registration office and a specific student's advisor without making that communication public to any and every advisor in the system.
This is an important feature to revise. Can Populi link the visibility to ONLY the student's advisor(s) as listed on their record? Our academic dean informed me that advisors should only be able to see activity feed items for their own advisees. As a side note, she has served on the ATS accreditation reviewing committee in the past so I take her comments seriously. Can this be elevated to a higher priority?
