We would like to see a limited role developed for students serving as Graders in individual classes. The existing "Teaching Assistant" Role allows these Graders to receive any email communications sent out to Faculty. Obviously this is problematic if the notice includes confidential or sensitive information. We would prefer to have a role that did not automatically include Faculty email notices. At the current time Populi does not have a role which allows entry of grades but limits emails.

Ann Rill This is something we are struggling with as well. Teacher Assistants take on a variety of roles, depending on the actual instructor. We don't want TA's receiving every email sent to the instructor which happens if a student chooses to "email faculty." Some TA's are just responsible for posting initial discussions and announcements. They don't need access to grades, just to the discussion board and bulletin board. A tool that allows us to check the level of access the TA has would be great, for example, Edit Grades, View Grades, No Access to Gradebook. Receive Emails, No Email Notifications.

Marilyn Mast Hewitt We are a new Populi user and right away I was asked about this. We don't want TAs to have the same level of clearance as faculty. Not authorization or direct entry of final grades, or access to the faculty emails, etc.
I'm surprised more users are not voting for this feature. Is there an easy "work-around"? Thank you.

IVY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE I agree! Also, we want to develop a tutor program. It would be great if TA's can start chats to hold online tutor sessions, or create a whole new role called tutors? That may sound ambitious, but it might be good to have a role that allows to hold some sort of a tutoring program. TA with limited visibility is good too :)
Thanks!
