Cross-listed Courses

We have several courses where there are multiple numbers in a sequence.  For example, Chamber Ensemble can be taken by a student 8 times (each semester for 4 years).  The student starts with MUS145, then MUS146, MUS245, etc.  Each number ends up being a separate section.  This creates confusion for students and extra work for the instructor who, for example, to take role must go in and out of 8 different sections even though they are all meeting at one time or when recording grades has to go into all the different sections.  I would like to request the ability to set up a parent course under which all the sections would fall.  Students would register for the appropriate semester number but they would all essentially end up in one section. When the instructor goes to take role or record grades all the students would show up under the parent number but the transcript would record the individual child course number.  Ideally, in the course listing they would all be together in the listing based on the parent number instead of spread out throughout the listing based on the individual number.
