I wanted to offer a suggestion for how to improve Populi.
This morning I was invoicing a student for an application fee and recording their payment under that student's Financial tab. The student had called in the day before and processed a payment with me over the telephone and I processed it through a credit card machine I have in the Business Office as opposed to using Stripe.
After I had finished invoicing the student for the applicaton fee and recording the payment, a colleague of mine pointed out a few minutes later that under the Admissions section of Populi that the fee looks like it had not been paid. I assured them that it had been.
I would like to recommend the following: if someone processes a payment under a student's financial tab (particularly if it is for an applicaiton fee), then the payment for that fee should flow to the appropriate section of Populi so that one person is aware of what another person has done. Particularly in this case, where by regulation certain persons at a college are prohibited from performing certain functions, it would be very helpful.
