Library - make the search return results when using just 1 character

We currently use Koha and there is a search bar in the top that accepts one or more characters and returns search results. Populi requires 5 characters. Google does searches with 1 character, Yahoo does searching with 1 character, Populi does search with 2 characters, of course with quite random results, but it will search with only 2 characters. Please add the functionality of search with one character.
