Our library lends tech equipment, and we want to add the serial number of a laptop, camera etc., to the fields of like "abstract, subject, descriptor"
I requested this type thing when I asked for the ""type" include exhibition catalog...Populi was able to do this. So, I don't think it is rare that libraries / tech centers lend out tech equipment and serial numbers are similar but not the same to an ISBN. It is like a barcode, unique to the item.
