Filter by Custom Field in non-Reporting Areas

In Advising > Advised Students and Academics > Academic Term > Students, it would be extremely helpful if we could filter by custom fields the way we can in the Data Slicer and the Enrollments report under Academics > Reporting. I know we can use temporary tags to capture specific groups of students in these areas, but it would be better if we could use the custom fields to ensure we're including/excluding the appropriate individuals without having to check/update the tag each time we run a new report on the target population.
