At the current time, we are required to add a scholarship on a student account before adding a student loan in order that the scholarship apply to any available invoice first.
Often times, students request loan funds exceeding tuition in order to pay for books, etc, thus the excess funds need to be available to be refunded to the student, but often students request a loan before a scholarship has been added, creating the problem that the loan auto-assigns itself to the open invoice before the scholarship can be applied to the invoice.
It would be great if Populi could do one of two things to help fix this:
1) Utilize the disbursement date that is set when creating an award so that the funds disburse on the day noted
OR
OR
2) give the option to set a "primary" financial aid option that would always disburse first.
