When we receive a donation via ACH/electronic check, the only identifying piece of information we receive is a name. But of course there are many names—or a donor may go by several different names. Alumni who have common first and last names for example may both give to the school, and we now have no way to verify the identity of donors.
The donation form asks for an address whether or not the transaction type is Credit Card or Electronic Check. Since Stripe supports arbitrary metadata, could the address be added to that metadata? Ideally Populi would also display this information in the donations area, but at a minimum we can pull it out of the Stripe dashboard this way.
Otherwise we will have to turn off electronic check donations. There's no point in saving money in processing fees if we credit the wrong donor!
