I'd like to request that the system tags for disciplinary actions (such as probation and expulsion) be removed. We see this is a FERPA violation because not all users with the Staff role need to see that a student is on probation or has been expelled. Because of this, we have chosen not to use the disciplinary actions as they are set up in Populi. However, we, very reluctantly, have to use the expulsion option though we feel very strongly that not all Staff users need to know why that student is no longer a student (that they were expelled).

Mary Vandercook Yes. It feels icky.
I think the academic disciplinary action visibility should be set up like the other information under the STUDENT tab.
Thank you :)

Ute Delaney I agree. We have students helping with recruitment, but if I give them the staff role, they can see those tags. So, we don't give them the staff role which means they can't help with recruitment if it involves Populi at all.

Dee McOwen AMBS agrees also.

Ute Delaney Just found the NEW setting where you can choose to not to display the discipline system tag. (There is a check box for displaying when you enter the discipline.) This will take care of the problem I think.

Adam Sentz Thanks, Ute! We implemented that recently.
