Assignment Uploads vs. random file uploads

I'm requesting this again (see "Better identification of assignments that accept file uploads vs those that don't") because it's becoming more of an issue as more of our school's courses accept uploads.

I think there needs to be a clearer distinction between uploaded assignments (and the assignments that accept them), and general uploads to a "grade only" assignment. Students get confused and/or don't pay attention and in Populi there's no way for them to tell the difference - so they just upload at random because they can.

Is anybody else having this problem?

  @Brad - This is something we're aware of and planning to try to address when we can. I don't know if we can prevent students from uploading to the wrong assignment, but it could be more obvious when an assignment requires you to upload a file.

  Thanks, and I'm fine with that. I'm not necessarily wanting to prevent uploads altogether either. It just would be nice to have "assignment" uploads more clearly identified as such ... even if it's a just different box, color, look, whatever.  File uploads look like "this" (fairly nondescript), and assignment uploads look like "that" (stands out a bit more). Even something like that would be great.
