Hello,
I was wondering if we could get a report specifically designed to help us with our mandatory NSLDS Enrollment Reporting.
At the very minimum, if we had a report that listed all of the students who made any enrollment changes (enrolled in courses/dropped courses/withdrew from courses/switched program or degree) between a given date range we would be able to check those students against the ones we report on in NSLDS.
---
Best case scenario, though, would be if we had a report that would allow us to mimic what NSLDS enrollment history looks like and double check the statuses we have there against what is in Populi, then have the info needed to make changes.
It would be very helpful to have a report that listed all of the enrollment changes per student per term that could be sorted either strictly by date (asc or desc) or by student and date (desc) to group all of a single student's actions together. The second sort should be the default, as that's how we report to NSLDS (the changes are always listed in descending order on NSLDS with the newest change on the top).
Filters should include term (defaulted to current but able to select none/all), the ability to exclude certain courses that don't change enrollment status (our New Student Orientation (NSO) for example), a date range or changes from selected date input, the option to include only changes in enrollment status, and student name or ID for getting a single student's full history.
Columns should include student name, term, # of courses enrolled in (this would change when courses like our NSO are filtered out), total # of credit hours, enrollment status (include the triangle warning if auto detected enrollment is different from set status or just use auto detection by default), term start date, anticipated completion date (if possible, auto calculate this based on credits needed minus credits completed divided by average credits per course divided by number of courses currently enrolled in rounded up. This is the minimum # of terms they would have left at their current enrollment status. Then get the estimated end date that many terms out.), current term end date, withdrawal date, last date of attendance in term (This should be specific to the term that the row is regarding. It would be nice to add a caution "student has not attended yet" if this is blank, maybe change the color of the entire row).
For which records to include, all students who are enrolled in the term should have a record that states their enrollment at the start of the term. Then every time there is a change in enrollment (student has dropped a course, student added a course) there would be another record. If the filter option to include only enrollment status changes is checked, then only records where the adding/dropping of a course should also trigger an enrollment status change would be included.
On export, it would be helpful to include SSN and Birthdate as they are required to pull up specific students in NSLDS. Even better, column order should be SSN, First Name, Birthdate, Last Name. Also include Program, Degree, and CIP code if you have it. It's a tall order, and I'm sure I'm missing some pieces, but something like what I have described above would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you for your consideration.
