add a "conferred" option to a degree

Is it possible to add a "conferred" field with a date under the degree? Right now, we indicate "granted" once the student has finished all requirements - and we need this for reporting to the government. But, this does not mean they have walked the graduation stage and received a diploma. In fact, it would also be helpful to add "completed" to that drop down list. But primarily, we would like a completed filed with a date option - that would show on the transcript as well.
