In a different LMS I used the students were given the capability which I believe was embedded in the LMS itself to record video responses in their browser without having to upload any files. Is there anything like this available in Populi?

Toby Robinson Official comment Videos can now be used for test answers, grading feedback, discussion and bulletin board posts.

Adam Sentz @Ben - We don't have anything built in right now, but this kind of thing is on the radar. Right now, I'd probably upload an unlisted video to YouTube, and paste the share link into Populi where it will automatically embed the video. I imagine most people are taking video with their phones, and it's pretty simple to upload via the YouTube app.

J. Ben Wiles Understood. So as this is "on the radar" are you considering making that feature accessible through the mobile app/browser?

Adam Sentz @Ben - Don't have anything to announce right now, but we are aware that this sort of functionality would be useful for some folks.

Kitae Kim Do you have any plans to add this feature soon?
-
James We do, actually! I can't give out timelines, but it's getting close.

Kitae Kim Could you share around when we might expect this feature to become available?
-
Adam Sentz Kitae Kim - Probably pretty soon. It's in QA.

Kitae Kim Could you share more details about the release schedule for the new feature? Hopefully, we can begin using it next semester!

Adam Sentz Kitae Kim - Can't say exactly when at this point, but glad to hear you're looking forward to it. Shouldn't be too long.

J. Ben Wiles Good to hear! How much impact will these videos have on our storage space?

Adam Sentz J. Ben Wiles - No differently than any other videos you upload. Mostly going to depend on how many and how long they are.
