GOAL - One thing that we need is to have more detailed and aggregated visibility of faculty course assignments grouped by faculty member so faculty and deans could see at a glance what courses a given faculty member is assigned to teach in the upcoming year (split out by term), what days those courses are, and what enrollment is looking life.
Right now, the only way to see that is in the reporting tool by faculty – which is good – but it is just a row-by-row list. We can either see the individual courses and their faculty or I can see the individual faculty with the aggregate of their hours and course, but not both on the same page.
What we envision is a view that combines the Academic Term > Courses and Academic Term > Faculty information, grouped by Faculty member and that could then be printed off. A handy function here would be if such a view could be emailed to individual faculty members
A second area of suggested improvement that relates to this is with the Dashboard of the user's My Courses view. That dashboard view under My Courses as it is now is only of minimal value. If this dashboard aggregated the kind of information described above, it would be of much greater value to deans and faculty.
SUMMARY: Unless there is something we are overlooking, there is no go-to place to see in one view all the courses for a given instructor that lists both the individual course detail and the aggregate numbers for each term in the current year being viewed. We are proposing updates to the Reporting tool and the My Courses dashboard to better present this information in a streamlined way.
