On the date that the courses open each semester, all students get access to the course(s) that they registered for, whether they have paid their invoice(s) or not.
Our school's financial policy is that students are supposed to either pay in full or set up a tuition payment plan before the first day of the semester. But this has become much harder to enforce since we switched to Populi.
A feature that would be really helpful is an academic lock that forces students to either pay their invoice or select a credit card or echeck payment plan before they are given access to their courses. It might make sense to link this feature to the "custom access date" on the course info pages.
