Heading level (and other text formatting) Picker for Lesson and Content Design

Most LMSs have a formatting option in the editor to select different heading levels within the lesson/content editing box. Having a separate Heading option with only one format is really limiting to designers and authors.

Is there no way to create a basic text formats drop down (headings, paragraph, other basic options) so that text within the content box can be actually designed for learners.

I know that it's possible to do this manually in the HTML view, but that is not particularly user-friendly when the drop down is standard in most editors these days. This does not seem to have considered typical faculty users, but is designed by programmers who aren't considering faculty time and workflow in creating or editing course content.

  @Paul - Populi's Lesson content text editor already contains a number of formatting options. Lesson content blocks aren't really designed to function as self-contained HTML documents with hierarchical heading levels. Instead we've included options to make text larger, and bold so you can achieve a similar appearance within a content block if desired. All blocks of text inside a content block are automatically wrapped in paragraph tags, so it's not necessary for you do do that manually.
