Lead added date filter in admissions

I get different results every time I try to use the funnel report. So I do not feel comfortable relying on that for my numbers. I simply want to track people through our funnel using our relevant KPI numbers. I want to find out how many leads have been added in a given time frame, and how many of those specific leads have started an application, etc. In the Admissions tab, I can filter down to everything I need EXCEPT when that particular lead was added to Populi. In order to get accurate numbers right now, I have to export two spreadsheets (lead added and application started) and filter out the folks. Is it difficult to add a "lead added" option in the admissions tab filter choices?
