Discussion Board Email Alerts

We would like our students to receive an email alert when there is a new comment or reply on the Discussion Boards. Currently, students have to choose to receive an email alert on every single Discussion Board. We would like to be able to choose to have students receive an email alert as a default setting, even if it must be done course by course. Students could have the option to turn it off, but the default would be to receive the alert.
