Could we get an automation on the back end for notifications (e-mails) to certain individuals when an advising flag is entered? This is important because retention/at-risk warning isn't always solely the responsibility of the advisor (especially in small institutions), and though you could add multiple advisors to students to set up the notifications that way, that seems less representative of who the student's actual advisor is and could lead to some confusion for students, faculty, and staff.

Nic Toney This is exactly what I'm looking for!
I coordinate Student Support at our college, and I couldn't find another way to get reports and help students other than adding myself as an advisor to every single student!
Having a way to "advise" without officially being an advisor, would be fantastic.
We could add a "Support Person" role that could do this? -
Leslie Borquez This is what we need as well. I have had to mark three different people as the students' advisors in order to give them these permissions. We do get confused as to who the academic advisor is on record. This would be ok I suppose if I had a way to make a notation in the Advisor list as to "Academic" or other type.

Christopher Sumpter Yes, we give coaches advisor status so that they can track student-athlete performance, but I don't want them registering students for classes.

Michelle Keller I would love this as an option as well. We love using the flags, but only the advisor gets the email notification. I have been hesitant to add additional "advisors" because I don't want any support person having advisor access. All we would need (I think) is a new role labeled "support person" who would get emails when a flag is entered.
