The Rubric feature is incredibly helpful, I do however, have a suggestion.
The ability to attach multiple Rubric to a single assignment. For those assignments where there are multiple options for completing the assignment. E.g. a term paper assignment that allows for either an argumentative paper or a thematic paper. It would be helpful to attach a rubric for each and have the option to choose which one you would like to grade with.

Rory Daugherty - I would recommend setting up two different assignments and only requiring students to complete one or the other. You can mark the one they don't choose with an E for excused in the grade book or just leave it blank and Populi will exclude it from the final grade calculation.
The only issue I see with that is then the assignment weights are inaccurate. With that term paper example each option is then only weighted at 10% rather than the full 20%.
Rory Daugherty - Yes the % of course column on the Assignments table wouldn't reflect that only one could count towards the final grade. The reality is that that column is only accurate when 100% of the grades are entered. During the course it's useful for comparing relative weights, but the percentages aren't going to match the current grade calculation for a particular student until every grade has been entered.
I'd set up an assignment group called Term Paper that's worth 20% and just include the info about only having to do one of the assignments in the Syllabus. If you only grade one assignment in that group it will be worth 20%.
This would also be helpful with assessment. Sometimes we need a specific rubric for assessment that is different than the actual class. It would be nice to have it on the same assignment without having to duplicate assignments.

We have specific assignments that we use as benchmarks on whether students are hitting certain objectives of the program. It's a basic 1, 2, 3 grade scale that I set up using a rubric. However, we also need our regular rubrics with which we can use to grade the assignment. As of now, we've been using the rubric and then manually overriding the rubric grade. So we can still see what's on the rubric, but have an accurate grade.
