Have a Last Attendance Date field that doesn't include 0-credit courses

We have an attendance drop process where we warn students who have not participated in courses for a week, and drop them if they have not participated for 14 days.

This is required by USDE, as part of the R2T4 process for all attendance-taking schools. See 2016-2017 Federal Student Aid Handbook, Volume 5, page 5-22.  “Except in unusual instances, the date of the institution’s determination that the student withdrew should be no later than 14 days (less if the school has a policy requiring determination in fewer than 14 days) after the student’s last date of attendance as determined by the institution from its attendance records.” (The LDA is the last date of submitted assignments for online schools.)

However, currently, we experience some challenges in making the LDA determinations , since the LDA field in Data Slicer includes 0-credit courses.

For us, the 0-credit course is the New Student Orientation, and it is not an actual academic course; thus, participation in it should not be included.

If possible, could you:

* add a Last Date of Attendance field (for Data Slicer, at least) which does not include 0-credit courses

Currently, the only way that we can confirm for sure that students have participated in other courses besides New Student Orientation is to look at the Attendance > By Student & Course report in addition to Data Slicer, and filter an export of it.

Having an LDA for credit-bearing courses only would simplify things greatly.
