Lesson Templates

I would like to be able to set up a lesson template that can be copied into multiple lessons or allow a lesson to be cloned so that I do not have create the same layout for every lesson. This would save me hours worth of work. For instance, I set up all my lessons as weeks so they look like this:

Monday:

Teaching

Homework

Projects

Work Ahead

Wednesday: 

Teaching

Homework

Projects

Work Ahead

Friday:

Teaching

Homework

Projects

Work Ahead

And I have to do this for every week. Granted, once the course is set up I can clone the course, but the initial set-up takes a long time.

  This would be fantastic for faculty who are setting up courses for the first time.

  We really need this. The lack of a feature like this has added hours to my workload over the last month as we converted courses from in-seat to online. I will be spending hours more doing this for our summer courses starting in a few weeks as we still are not allowed to hold in-seat classes.

  It would also be nice to be able to clone in a template without replacing all previous lessons. For example, when we did our course conversion, we were unable to clone in lesson templates for any instructors with previously built lessons.

  Agree!  Would love to be able to import a lesson from one course to another without having to clone all the lessons.

  Happened to be back on the forum and I thought I would check on the status of this request. Any idea if you plan to implement something like this? I am about to have to design some new courses, and I would really appreciate this feature.

  I'm sure there are several slightly different ideas being represented / hoped for here; however, it seems like if there were an ability to create a global lesson template (similar to how rubrics can be created and made available for any course/assignment), that would probably answer the need. 

  We create many of our courses to be organized the same way each week (or each lesson), so this would be extremely helpful. :)

  Dr. Jacob Leporacci - We've been adding more things like this to ease setup so it's definitely something to consider. Sounds like we'd just want to be able to import a lesson's structure into a lesson, and maybe need a lesson draft state while it's waiting to be populated.

  I am once again setting up a new course and wishing there was a way to import a lesson structure into multiple lessons or set-up a lesson template. Any idea if this will be implemented in the near future?

  This is an important feature to add especially when offering courses in multiple languages. By cloning or duplicating lessons I can maintain the same consistency for each course and in multiple languages. Just putting a course together and having to repeat headings and text boxes is soooo cumbersome. Joseph

  any further thoughts on this?? Cloning lessons and lesson templates are really necessary. I teach several similar courses and the structure changes of some lessons and not others. Please add both

  Populi has wasted hours and hours of my time as a professor creating the same pages and doing the same formatting on my lessons. Seriously, probably every instructor out there tries to have a similar format on each lesson. This should have been a Day 1 feature.
