Rather than only providing text feedback on assignments, it would be great to offer video feedback, but without having to upload videos or links.
If you could integrate with Flipgrid (https://info.flipgrid.com/), that would be fantastic, as it would then be easy for students to provide video comments back to the prof as well.
I've used Loom links to share videos with students, but they tend to reply with text responses.
Videos can now be used for test answers, grading feedback, discussion and bulletin board posts.
I agree that video integration would be fantastic. I think, actually, it's critical. As we try to accommodate students with disabilities and neurodivergencies, we need to be able to move away from constantly relying on text for assignments. In addition, then, as the prof grading video assignments, I want to be able to adjust the playback speed. Flipgrid was amazing, but it no longer exists. It's now incorporated into Microsoft Teams, which is attempting to be an entire learning platform like Google Classroom. I don't want to have to use two learning platforms. The video component of Populi needs to be boosted considerably, I think. Right now, students can upload videos, but then I am unable to adjust playback speed, which is super annoying.
@Toby- how will this affect storage space and the expense our institution pays to Populi? Are the videos recorded for feedback stored long term?
Andrew Gabriel - They are treated just like any other video you upload with regards to how they affect your file storage usage, and they are stored indefinitely (i.e. until you delete them).
