At the moment, a student is not listed as engaging with a lesson (i.e., with a Green check box) if they only download the relevant files for that lesson through the Files tab but don't click on the Lessons tab itself.
It would be helpful, however, to have some indicator (maybe a yellow rather than a green box) under Student Progress to show that a student did actually download the embedded files for the relevant lesson through the Files Tab, even if they didn't click on the actual Lesson page. At the moment, there doesn't seem to be much integration between the two ways students can access materials (i.e., embedded files on the lesson and downloading them directly through the Files Tab), which can make it hard to track activity.
