It will be helpful to clear the home page of alerts and alerts in the classes. It confuses people. At the very least we would appreciate an option to hide these. Perhaps a setting for alerts to be on or off on the home page and in each course. Global College of Ministry would appreciate this. Many thanks.
It would be helpful to be able to hide them. But I'm curious; we find the alerts helpful. Which ones are confusing your users?
Can you create an option to hide or show alerts? When students log in there can be many alerts but not all alerts are due that week for example.
In our school, at least, the alerts about required assignments can become confusing for people since they are not always accurate. (Sometimes the people have already completed the assignments or readings.)
Remy Lehner - Often an abundance of simultaneous alerts in a course is due to many things being scheduled to become available at the same time. If you open a support request with some more info we might be able to help you pare those down.
Evan Donovan - If there's an alert showing up regarding an assignment which has been completed it's likely due to there being unviewed teacher feedback or maybe an available retake if it's a test. If you open a support request with some examples of alerts you believe are displaying erroneously we can investigate those for you.

For us, what confuses students is the alert about available retakes for a test if they have already completed the test with a passing grade. Maybe there could be an option to hide just that one? But that could be a separate feature request perhaps.
Evan Donovan - I can see how a retake alert for a test where you've already achieved the highest possible score isn't particularly useful, but you still can retake the test so it would be a little strange to withhold that information.
Ok, we'll have to think through how we do the retakes then. It just happens that sometimes we have students in multiple courses who get a ton of alerts.
If they had a link by which they could dismiss the alerts they've already read, that might help.
Yes it would be a great help if these alerts could have an on off setting.
