Requesting Populi create functionality that supports a bidding system for students to spend earned tokens and bid on limited seats in elective courses.
For example, imagine that students earned tokens through campus service, dean's list, etc., and when it came time to choose electives, students who bid higher numbers of their tokens would have a higher chance of getting a seat in their desired course(s). This is an incentive to 1) engage in campus service; 2) academic achievement; and 3) earn more tokens and 4) save up tokens to 'spend' on their preferred courses.
We're interested in that incentive structure, and in the signal we get seeing which courses have higher intensities of interest. Higher bids are viewed by academic leaders as a signal of how intensely students want certain types of classes.
