It is not possible for a student or professor to see what their grade is for an Assignment Group (the "average" of all the assignment grades in an Assignment Group).
For example if a class has 5 tests in the Assignment Group: Test there is no way for the student or professor to see the grade for the Test Assignment Group.
To show how important this is, if a student asked their professor what their grade is for all their tests, the professor would have to use some sort of spreadsheet to calculate it. Also if there are point differences for different assignments because different assignments in the Assignment Group are weighted differently which is not uncommon then that calculation is not just a simple average and would be almost impossible for most students to calculate. Which means they could never understand or see how their final grade was calculated.
