We have configured our Populi-to-Canvas integration to set students who "drop" to Inactive.
Because we launch the term's integration soon after its registration opens, and as much as two months before the term begins, faculty see Inactives on their Canvas rosters for students who may have dropped well before term start.
But we wish to distinguish in Canvas between those who dropped before the course started, and those who withdrew after the start date.
Our analysis of student success and retention on our LMS platform, Canvas, depends on this distinction.
