Add a "First Time Taking Classes" filter to Data Slicer

I asked Jordan Nelson what the best way to filter "new students" was, and there currently is not a solution that works well for us.

 

We could use "Entrance Term" to filter all students who are taking classes for the first time, except that we set our Entrance Term as when students start their application process, not necessarily when they first take classes.
As such, that filter doesn't work for us. Perhaps we need to change our process, but adding a filter that could calculate when a student is enrolled in a class (for credit or not) for the first time could be really useful.

  You could get the information from the iped report - In reporting - then preset. You can pick the term and if you click Show the underlying data used to generate this report... on the bottom of the page or export it you can see who is a first time student. We ask them in their application if they are first-time students but I think this actually pulls the information from somewhere else that I can't think of at the moment.
