To ensure our schools are in compliance with the new ADA web and mobile app rules, it would be helpful if our professors could create ADA-compliant documents in Populi (e.g., tests, quizzes, and notes).

Adam Sentz Mechelle Garrett - Tests and Notes are already accessible in Populi. Populi doesn't have a separate "quizzes" function, it's just called Tests. If there is something about Tests or Notes that you don't think is ADA compliant please let us know via a Support Request so we can investigate.
You can find general information about accessibility in Populi, including our VPAT, here.

Mechelle Garrett Hello Adam,
Here is the feedback I received from faculty regarding accessibility: "Canvas scans every PDF uploaded for accessibility and offers to change it to meet expectation or allows you to make choices on how to change it and it won't allow you to publish until you have met the accessibility requirement. Students then click on the icon and can choose how it wants Canvas to display the PDF." I misunderstood. This is what they are asking about.

Adam Sentz Mechelle Garrett - It sounds like your faculty is referring to using something like Anthology Ally with Canvas. If your faculty would like to request an integration with Anthology Ally or a similar service they do so by visiting our Feature Request Forum and clicking New Post. Populi already does conversions of PDFs and other document types into HTML for viewing on the web (or with a screen reader). If you have specific issues with any documents you can let us know and we can take a lok.

Mechelle Garrett Thank you, Adam! This is helpful. I'll share this with the faculty and follow up if there are additional questions or concerns.
